On the evening of June 9, 2026, at the Chroy Changvar International Convention and Exhibition Center (OCIC) in Phnom Penh, Metfone officially launched Metfone Express, its new logistics service, marking an important milestone in the company’s strategy to expand its digital ecosystem and contribute to the development of Cambodia’s digital economy infrastructure.
The event was honoured by the presence of H.E. Hun Many, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Service of Cambodia; H.E. Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications of Cambodia; and Senior Lieutenant General Nguyễn Văn Gấu, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of National Defence of Vietnam.
They were joined by numerous high-ranking representatives from relevant ministries and agencies of both nations.
During the event, distinguished guests experienced Metfone’s diverse and comprehensive digital ecosystem. Key highlights included 5G technology, robotic integration within the Metfone Express delivery system, off-grid solar energy solutions, as well as gaming, TV360 and eMoney.
Metfone’s entry into the logistics sector represents the next step in its transformation from a traditional telecommunications operator into a comprehensive technology and digital services company. Leveraging its technological infrastructure, nationwide presence across all 25 provinces and cities, and extensive experience in deploying large-scale digital platforms, Metfone aims to build a modern logistics network powered by technology to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.

While Cambodia’s logistics market is expanding quickly, there remains significant demand for improved service quality, operational efficiency and the application of digital technologies.
Amid the rapid growth of e-commerce, both consumers and businesses increasingly require modern, transparent, high-speed and end-to-end delivery solutions. These market dynamics have motivated Metfone to invest in logistics infrastructure, contributing to the modernisation of the transportation and delivery sector while supporting the development of Cambodia’s digital economy ecosystem.
Metfone Express is developed as an end-to-end logistics platform. In its initial phase, the service will operate through approximately 1,000 service points, integrating solutions across the entire delivery process — from order acceptance, sorting and transportation to last-mile delivery. The system provides 24/7 real-time shipment tracking, supports online operational management, optimises delivery routes and enhances connectivity between senders and recipients.
A key advantage of the service is its ability to leverage Metfone’s digital infrastructure in Cambodia, combined with the logistics expertise and technology ecosystem developed by Viettel Group in Vietnam. The integration of telecommunications, data, digital platforms and smart management solutions is expected to contribute significantly to the modernisation of Cambodia’s logistics industry in the coming years.

Speaking at the event, H.E. Chea Vandeth lauded the broader impact of the new service on Cambodia’s technological development.
“Today’s event is not merely the launch of a new commercial service; rather, it reflects the evolution of Cambodia’s digital economy and society, creating new opportunities for businesses, entrepreneurs and citizens across the country,” he said.
The Minister also recognised the company’s contribution to long-term infrastructure developments, particularly regarding digital inclusivity across the Kingdom.
“Since its inception, Metfone has played a vital role in expanding telecommunications infrastructure nationwide,” Minister Chea Vandeth noted.

“Beyond serving cities and economic hubs, Metfone has actively invested in connecting rural communities and remote areas, aiming to bridge the digital divide and strengthen connectivity,” he added.
Addressing the shift from traditional telecommunications to integrated digital ecosystems, Minister Chea Vandeth contextualised the expansion within global market shifts.
“In this regard, Metfone’s evolution from a telecommunications and internet service provider into an e-commerce and logistics provider is highly timely and strategic,” the Minister stated.
“This reflects a global trend where telecom operators are evolving beyond just providing connectivity to become digital service companies,” he added.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyễn Văn Gấu, Deputy Minister of National Defence, expressed his confidence that Metfone will continue to uphold its role as a leading technology enterprise. He noted that the company will actively contribute to digital transformation, digital economic growth, and the strengthening of cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia in the new era.
Addressing the audience, Mr. Cao Manh Duc, CEO of Metfone, stated:
“Metfone Express represents the next milestone in Metfone’s strategy to build a comprehensive digital ecosystem in Cambodia. We remain fully committed to long-term investment, the application of cutting-edge technology, and the development of smart logistics infrastructure. This initiative aims to better serve citizens and businesses, while contributing to the sustainable development of Cambodia.”
With a strong technology foundation, extensive nationwide network and long-term investment strategy, Metfone Express aims to become one of Cambodia’s leading technology-driven logistics providers, supporting the growth of e-commerce, enhancing delivery service quality and contributing to the development of the country’s digital economy.
Industry experts believe that the participation of more technology companies in the logistics sector will increase competition, drive innovation and provide customers with a wider range of service options. At the same time, the convergence of digital infrastructure and logistics infrastructure is expected to create new momentum for trade activities, economic connectivity and e-commerce development across Cambodia.
After nearly 20 years of operations in Cambodia, Metfone has established itself as one of the country’s leading telecommunications and digital technology companies, with nationwide network coverage serving millions of individual and business customers. As Cambodia’s digital economy and e-commerce sector continue to grow rapidly, logistics has become a critical component in connecting supply chains, facilitating the movement of goods and supporting economic growth.
