The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has congratulated the Zambia Under -15 Boys’ and Girls’ National Teams on being crowned champions of the CAF Schools Championship.
FAZ President Keith Mweemba says FAZ is proud of the teams’ achievements, especially as his administration is promoting school football in its quest to relaunch a stronger youth football policy.
Mweemba says his executive committee will give school football all the support it needs for it to become more vital than before.
“It is a proud moment for us. On behalf of our executive and the football family, I congratulate our boys and girls on winning both the girls’ and boys’ championships at the just-ended CAF Schools Championship in the COSAFA region,” said Mweemba.
He noted that having teachers coach both teams shows how much FAZ wants to work with schools in reviving school football.
“Winning the CAF African Schools Championship in both the boys’ and girls’ competitions is a launchpad for a strong youth foundation. We continue to pursue the best ways to integrate school football into mainstream football. This is our direction.”
The FAZ Chief assured the technical bench of full support as the two teams prepare for the CAF Schools Championship.
