President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to strengthening trade, investment, and financial cooperation with Zambia.
Speaking at the Zambian Parliament on Thursday, February 5, he commended the government and people of Zambia for stabilising their macroeconomic environment.
“The improved performance of the Zambian Kwacha and the ongoing reform agenda send positive signals to investors and regional partners alike. Ghana looks forward to deepening trade, investment, and financial cooperation with Zambia to reinforce resilience and shared prosperity,” Mahama said.
He also expressed confidence in Zambia’s democratic process, noting that Ghana follows the country’s political journey with keen interest and wished them luck.
“As Zambia prepares for general elections in August 2026, we express our trust in the strength of your democratic institutions and the commitment of the Zambian people to peaceful, free, and fair elections,” he added.
The President’s remarks underline Ghana’s focus on regional collaboration and mutual economic growth within Africa.
