Parlamentul European a aprobat poziția sa privind legislația necesară pentru aplicarea componentei tarifare a acordului comercial dintre Uniunea Europeană și Statele Unite, deschizând astfel calea negocierilor finale cu statele membre ale UE. Votul reprezintă un pas important în implementarea înțelegerii comerciale convenite în 2025 între Bruxelles și Washington, însă eurodeputații au impus o serie de condiții stricte pentru protejarea intereselor economice europene. A fierce succession battle is brewing at the Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA), with allegations of favoritism, boardroom scheming and behind-the-scenes lobbying threatening to overshadow preparations for the exit of long-serving CEO Eng. São-Tomé, 16 Jun 2026 ( STP-Press ) – O Tribunal Constitucional  de São Tomé e Príncipe acaba de divulgar a lista dos cinco candidatos as eleições presidenciais de 19 de julho tendo rejeitado a candidatura do empresário Nino Monteiro – soube-se hoje de fonte oficial. De acordo com a publicação do Tribunal Constitucional foram aceite as candidaturas do jurista-advogado Mique João, do deputado do ADI, Nito Abreu, o professor Eugénio Tiny, do ex-primeiro-ministro, deputado do MLSTP, Jorge Bom Jesus e do actual Presidente da República, Carlos Vila Nova. Segundo o Tribunal a rejeição da candidatura de Nino Monteiro prende-se com questões relacionada com a sua naturalidade, incongruência referente a sua residência e o número de bilhete de identidade que apresenta diferente em vários documentos entregues. The Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture, Hon. Dr. Sanet Steenkamp, has recently announced the appointment of the full Board of the Boxing and Wrestling Control Board to steer the sports codes for the next three years. The newly appointed Board is chaired by Ronald Patrick Kurtz, with the following members: Dr Naftal Natanael, Anita Tjombe Gawanas, Commissioner Monalisa Molebugi and Superintendent Kaura Tjimuine. During the announcement, Steenkamp delivered a firm message on governance and operational conduct. She encouraged the Board to work with a strong sense of purpose. “We are not taking any chances; we call on you to do your best. We believe in consultation and doing things correctly,” she said. Kabelo Masoabi A civil claim arising from a road traffic accident in Leribe has reached the High Court, with a Mosotho man seeking M94,300 in compensation for damages allegedly caused to his vehicle in a three-car collision. The matter is before Justice ’Makampong Mokhoro. The plaintiff, Seshophe Ramakoro of Leribe, has instituted legal proceedings against Letsapo Lisene of Berea, alleging that Mr Lisene’s negligent driving caused extensive damage to his Toyota Etios sedan. According to evidence led before court, the accident occurred on 25 August 2023 at Likhetlane in Leribe and involved a Toyota Hilux, a minibus taxi and Mr Ramakoro’s Toyota Etios. Police Constable Rapulane, who is attached to the Maputsoe policing area and investigated the accident, testified that the Toyota Hilux had been travelling from Mapoteng towards Maputsoe at what he described as excessive speed.
