He emphasised that people must respect the rules and laws of the countries they visit. Ndabandaba attended this year’s main day Umhlanga Dance at Ludzidzini Royal Residence on Monday. On his Facebook page, he posted about visiting the Mbabane Bus Rank and Manzini city. The pictures he posted showed him engaging with some public transport operators and commuters. He was also captured at the Mbabane Bus Rank supporting a local vendor. Ndabandaba is a prominent South African cultural activist, and high-profile figure associated with civic anti-illegal immigration campaigns, such as the ‘March and March Until We Win’ Movement. Operating heavily within public spaces, townships and business districts in South Africa, the movement organised public demonstrations and marches in major cities like Johannesburg, Pretoria and Durban. SHIBUYA (Japan) Sierra Leone Telegraph: 04 September 2026: Ask what Africa needs to secure its economic future, and the answers tend to follow a familiar script: capital, technology and infrastructure. Rarely does ‘data’ make the list. Yet, data sovereignty, the ability to collect, control and act on reliable information about one’s own economy, has become one of the most consequential forms of sovereignty a nation can exercise. It is the invisible foundation on which every effective policy, efficient tax system and well-designed social programme ultimately rests. Without data and its valuable insights, even the best-funded interventions operate in the dark, and African governments remain dependent on analysis produced elsewhere, by others, for other purposes. Across the continent, a paradox persists. Governments collect vast amounts of tax administrative data, records of income, transactions, compliance and economic activity. This data, in the right hands and under the right conditions, has the potential...

Members of the Namibia Securities Exchange (NSX) have formally voted to approve a structural demutualisation, converting the southern African bourse from a non-proprietary voluntary association into a public company limited by shares. The decision, passed during a Special General Meeting on Thursday, separates the exchange’s ownership from trading access rights, aligning its corporate architecture with global standard practices. The corporate restructuring brings the exchange into compliance with Namibia’s Financial Institutions and Markets Act of 2021 (FIMA), which came into force on 1 May, making demutualisation a statutory requirement. The vote concludes a long-standing initiative first endorsed by exchange members in 2015. “Today’s approval is an important step forward in a process that has been carefully developed over several years,” said Tiaan Bazuin, Chief Executive of the NSX. “It demonstrates the support of our members for the continued modernisation of the NSX, and the establishment of a governance and ownership structure...

DOHA: Qatar has strongly condemned Iran’s reported attack on the Saudi-flagged tanker Sidr while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz, saying the incident violated international law and the principle of freedom of navigation. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attack, which reportedly resulted in deaths among the tanker’s crew, also constituted a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817. Doha categorically rejected the use of the Strait of Hormuz as a means of applying political or economic pressure and called for the vital waterway to be reopened without conditions. Qatar also called for an...
