The jury in the trial of former Jetstar captain Greg Lynn has requested recordings of the former pilot’s evidence, as well as the evidence of a ballistics expert from the trial. Gregory Stuart Lynn, 57, is facing trial after pleading not guilty to murdering Russell Hill, 74, and Carol Clay, 73, while on a camping trip in the remote Alpine National Park. The six men and six women who will decide Mr Lynn’s fate were sent out to deliberate by Supreme Court Justice Michael Croucher about 12.30pm Friday. On Tuesday the jury sent a note to the judge, requesting a recording of the evidence given to the court during the trial by Mr Lynn. The jury also requested a recording of the evidence given by a ballistics expert with Victoria Police, Senior Constable Paul Griffiths, who conducted examinations on Mr Lynn’s shotgun. A massive native title decision covering 365,000 hectares of the Sunshine Coast has granted the traditional owners the right to “take resources from the area for any purpose” in a first for southeast Queensland. The Kabi Kabi people have been formally recognised as the native title holders over a huge section of land and waters stretching from Elimbah Creek, Sandstone Point and Bribie Island in the south, Cooloola National Park, Curra State Forest, Mary River and the Isis River in the north, and from the coastline west to Nambour, Jimna and the Burnett and Coast Ranges. Tributes are pouring in for three friends who were killed when the car they were travelling in struck a light pole in Western Australia. The white Holden Commodore, containing five men, was travelling on Wallwork Rd at Wedgefield in the Pilbara region about 9.20pm on June 10 when it veered off the road and hit the light pole. Emergency services rushed to the scene where passenger Brandon Krakouer, 24, was declared dead. Jermayne Smith, 25, had also died a short time later in hospital. Harley Corbett, 22, was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital following the crash and was admitted to the intensive care unit.
