…as Appeal Court revives his M855m Frazer Solar corruption case Moorosi Tsiane FORMER Trade Minister, Temeki Tšolo, has suffered a major legal setback after the Court of Appeal on Friday reinstated high-profile corruption and fraud charges linked to the controversial M855 million Frazer Solar deal. In a significant victory for the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Offences (DCEO), the apex court overturned the High Court’s August 2025 ruling by Justice Tšeliso Mokoko, which had permanently stayed the criminal proceedings against Mr Tšolo. The Court of Appeal has now referred the matter back to the High Court for trial before a different judge, effectively reviving a case that had appeared dead and buried. The charges arise from allegations that Mr Tšolo unlawfully represented the government in September 2018 and entered into an agreement with Frazer Solar (Pty) Ltd and Frazer Solar without proper authority, exposing Lesotho to massive financial liabilities. The...

Leemisa Thuseho  SENIOR golfer, Letlafuoa Molapo, emerged victorious in the May edition of the Maseru Golf Club (MGC) Corporate League after a tightly contested competition held at the Maseru Golf Course yesterday.  The tournament was sponsored by Liberty Life Lesotho.  Molapo finished with 37 points, tied with Motlatsi Ramafole and Mathalea Molapo in a closely fought battle for top honours. However, he clinched first place on countback due to his superior handicap of 17.  Ramafole, playing off a handicap of 19, settled for second position while Mathalea finished third with a handicap of 24.  The MGC Corporate League, which started in August last year, runs until July 2026 and features monthly tournaments sponsored by different corporate partners.  Speaking to the Sunday Express, Molapo said the victory came as a surprise as he did not believe his score would be enough to secure the win.  “Some people have won the monthly tournaments with about 40 points, so after scoring 37 points I did not see...

Extreme weather has impacted every corner of the US, from deadly floods to sweltering heat. For Americans, the changing climate has made protecting their homes increasingly important. Finding a “climate haven” in the United States has become more difficult with the warming planet. Storms can dump biblical amounts of rain in mountainous regions from Vermont to Kentucky to New Mexico. In 2023, Phoenix spent over 50 days baking in over 110-degree Fahrenheit heat, and the city hit triple digits in March this year. The rest of the Southeast is staring down a historically dry start to the year, with fears about wildfires and drought. But there are key ways to make your home more resilient to a hotter climate and stronger weather, experts say. Much of it begins even before you buy the house. Some of the most important decisions you can make to climate-proof your home happen before the...
