KAMPALA — The leadership drama at the Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) has taken another twist after Energy Minister Dr Monica Musenero said a substantive successor to outgoing Executive Director Ernest Rubondo has already been selected — but stopped short of revealing the name. Instead, Musenero has appointed Otonga Michael Ochan, the Authority’s Director of Finance and Corporate Services, as Acting Executive Director, leaving the oil regulator in the unusual position of having an allegedly identified successor whose identity remains under wraps. The Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (NAMFISA) has announced a scheduled base upgrade and maintenance for its NAMFISA Online platform, taking place from Friday, 4 September at 18:00 to Sunday, 6 September at 23:00. NAMFISA Chief Executive, Kenneth Matomola, explained that the scheduled base upgrade is being undertaken to enhance the system’s performance, stability and reliability. During this period, all regulated entities, industry stakeholders, and users will be unable to access NAMFISA Online or submit regulatory returns, applications, or any other information through the system. Matomola urged all regulated entities and users of the platform to ensure that all time-sensitive regulatory submissions are completed before the commencement of the maintenance window, all platform-related activities are planned around the scheduled maintenance period, and refrain from attempting to access or submit information through NAMFISA Online while the system is unavailable.
