MANZINI – A popular Manzini Deputy Sheriff, Charles Thwala, has been shot dead.
According to a source close to the Manzini-based deputy sheriff (64) of Maliyaduma, under Kukhanyeni Inkhundla, was found dead in his house on Thursday afternoon at around 4:35. He said Thwala has two gunshot wounds on his upper body.
The matter was confirmed by his father Dingizwe, who said as a family, they were yet to get a full report about the incident. Therefore, he said there was nothing he knew about it and could be in a position to discuss if further after they had met as family and got a feedback from the police, who are investigating it.
On the same note, Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati also confirmed that a 64-year-old man of Maliyaduma was found dead in his house with two gunshot wounds on the upper part of his body. She said the police are investigating the matter and no arrest had been made so far. Some of the people who knew the deceased said he was a staunch supporter of Moneni Pirates Football Club and that he spent most of his spare time socialising with people in the city of Manzini.
