Batswana kept in the dark over Concourt – BOCONGO
Botswana Council of Non-Governmental Organisations (BOCONGO) is accusing government of failing to adequately inform the public on sweeping constitutional changes already passed by Parliament.
In a discussion document on the Constitution (Amendment) Bill 2025 (Bill No. 14 of 2025), BOCONGO says the country remains “in the dark” about the true implications of the proposed court despite the Bill clearing its final reading on 30 March 2026 with a two-thirds majority. The orgnistion warns that citizens may be pushed into a referendum without fully understanding what they are voting for.
