Old Mutual Namibia has announced an N$80,000 sponsorship for the upcoming third edition of the Standard Bank Padel for Purpose tournament.
The financial support, co-funded through Old Mutual’s Corporate Segment and Personal Finance business units, will directly back the annual corporate charity event.
The tournament is scheduled to take place on 11 and 12 September in Windhoek, bringing together corporate teams and local sports enthusiasts to raise funds for a community development initiative
The company revealed that each business unit contributed N$40,000, demonstrating a shared commitment to supporting initiatives that create meaningful and lasting impact in communities across the country.
According to the company, Padel for Purpose forms part of Standard Bank Namibia’s Buy-a-Brick Programme, a corporate social investment initiative implemented in partnership with the Shack Dwellers Federation of Namibia. Since its inception in 2016, the programme has raised over N$27 million and contributed to the construction of approximately 740 houses for low-income families.
Speaking on behalf of Old Mutual Corporate, Isaack Veii, Head of Distribution and Retention, said the sponsorship reflects the organisation’s commitment to partnering for meaningful and sustainable impact.
“Housing is more than just shelter. It provides families with stability, dignity and a foundation on which they can build better futures. Through our support of Padel for Purpose, we are proud to join other organisations in contributing towards a cause that creates lasting change in communities across Namibia,” Veii shared.
Ndadhinitha Ndoroma, Old Mutual Personal Finance General Manager, echoing Veii’s sentiments, said the initiative aligns strongly with Old Mutual’s purpose of enabling positive futures for all Namibians.
“At Old Mutual, we believe that thriving communities are built when people have access to opportunities that improve their quality of life. Supporting the Buy-a-Brick initiative allows us to contribute towards creating safer and more secure living environments for vulnerable households while partnering with stakeholders who share our commitment to social progress,” Ndoroma shared.
By participating in Padel for Purpose, the company said it not only supports community upliftment efforts and strengthens stakeholder engagement, but reinforces its role as a responsible corporate citizen committed to creating value beyond financial services.
