El alcalde de la Municipalidad Provincial de Urubamba, ingeniero Ronald Vera Gallegos, presentó, ante el Tribunal Constitucional, una demanda competencial dirigida contra la Municipalidad Distrital de Machupicchu y contra el Gobierno Regional del Cusco, ante el Tribunal Constitucional, demanda con ingreso Nº 007-2023-PCC/TC de fecha 27 de octubre de 2023. La presentación de la demanda ha sido autorizada por unanimidad por el Concejo Municipal mediante Acuerdo de Concejo Municipal Nº 085-2023-MPU/A, adoptado en sesión de fecha 18 de septiembre de 2023. A 45-year-old Portmore resident, Darian Clarke, who was charged with breaches of the Firearms Act following the injury of two men in 2021 is to appear in the Gun Court on June 5. His bail was extended until then when he appeared in the St Catherine Parish Court on Tuesday. Clarke is charged with illegal possession of firearm, illegal possession of ammunition and two counts of wounding with intent. It is alleged that about 10 p.m. on June 21, 2021 the complainants were coming from an event and upon reaching Biscayne Road in Portmore, the accused fired his licensed gun, injuring the two men. The men made a report at the Waterford Police Station and an investigation was launched. (CNS): The police have seized another unlicensed gun after stopping two cars on Mary Street in George Town in the early hours of Sunday morning. Two West Bay men, aged 24 and 27, have now been charged and are expected in court today in relation to the discovery of the loaded weapon. Police Commissioner Kurt Walton has said there are at least 90 illegal guns on the streets of the Cayman Islands that have been used in past crimes. Since the establishment of the ballistics lab on Grand Cayman, it only takes the RCIPS about 48 hours to match a weapon to a crime. This latest weapon was found after police stopped and searched two vehicles that appeared to have been travelling together along North Church Street, according to a press release.
