Zimbabwe’s national trade development and promotion organisation, ZimTrade, has announced that it will conduct a three-day Outward Trade Mission to Windhoek from 7 – 9 October to explore opportunities for partnerships that can contribute to increased trade between the two countries.
According to ZimTrade, the mission is headed by the Zimbabwean Embassy in Namibia, in collaboration with the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board and the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI).
The mission will also include the hosting of a Business Forum to connect Zimbabwean and Namibian businesses, industry experts and development cooperation agencies from agriculture, alcoholic beverages, educational services, engineering services, fast-moving consumer goods, stock feeds, horticulture and logistics sectors.
ZimTrade statedthat it has participated in the Windhoek Agricultural and Commercial Show for the past three years. Building on this engagement and recognising the potential for further commercial cooperation, the organisation seeks to enhance its understanding of the local market, including buyer requirements, distribution channels, regulatory frameworks and priority sectors.

Speaking on the anticipated outcomes of the mission, H.E. Melody Chaurura, Ambassador of Zimbabwe to Namibia, emphasised the importance of strengthening commercial ties between the two countries.
“The mission will provide an important platform for Zimbabwean and Namibia businesses to move beyond dialogue and identify practical areas of cooperation. By bringing businesses together, we hope to create stronger commercial linkages, expand market access and encourage partnerships that can contribute to increased trade and investment between our two countries,” she said.
ZimTrade Southern Region Manager, Jacqueline Nyathi, noted that the mission objective mission is to give Zimbabwean businesses a better understanding of the Namibian market while creating direct opportunities to engage potential buyers, distributors and business partners.
Furthermore, NCCI Chief Executive, Titus Nampala, highlighted the potential impact of the mission on businesses and the broader private sector.
“Initiatives such as this create opportunities for Namibian businesses to connect with new suppliers, explore new markets and identify potential areas for collaboration. These engagements can contribute to business growth, strengthen commercial networks and create opportunities for increased trade between Namibia and Zimbabwe. For NCCI, facilitating these connections is important in support a more connected and active private sector,” he stated.
ZimTrade encourages local business to participate in the engagements and explore the opportunities available to expand their networks, identify potential partnerships and access new markets.
