Mobile Telecommunications Company (MTC) has injected a major financial boost into local commerce ahead of the upcoming Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair (OATF), announcing a sponsorship package worth N$350,000.
This year’s OATF will be held under the theme ‘A resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Economy.”
MTC also revealed its additional commitment of airtime worth N$12,000 to support the organising committee’s preparations, as well as branded merchandise valued at over N$20,000 for the OATF personnel.
Tim Ekandjo, Chief Brand, Marketing, Communications and Sustainability Officer at MTC, said the company’s continued support reflects its belief in the trade fair’s contribution to Namibia’s economic growth.
“The Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair continues to demonstrate the transformative power of partnerships in driving economic growth and creating opportunities for Namibian businesses. At MTC, we believe that investing in showcases like the OATF is an investment in entrepreneurs, innovation and the communities they serve.”
He reaffirmed the company’s support to the OATF, noting that it has “connected businesses, inspired enterprise and contributed meaningfully to Namibia’s economic development.”
Welcoming guests, Her Worship Naemi Amuthenu, Mayor of Ongwediva Town, described the trade fair as “our economic heartbeat,” adding that sponsorships represent an investment in business development, entrepreneurship, job creation, innovation and the future prosperity of our town and our country.
