With this service, the airline has reinforced its commitment to deepening intra-African connectivity and linking more African cities through its growing network.

Air Peace stated in a statement that the new route marks another significant milestone in the airline’s strategic expansion across the continent, connecting Nigeria’s commercial capital with Cameroon and Gabon while creating greater opportunities for business, trade, tourism, cultural exchange and stronger people-to-people relationships across Central and West Africa.

Upon arrival at the Douala International Airport, the Air Peace delegation, led by the airline’s Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Nowel Ngala, and Director of Flight Operations, Captain Augustine Kamano, was warmly received by Mrs. Suliat Paramole, Foreign Affairs Officer, Nigeria General Consulate, representing the Nigerian Ambassador to Cameroon; Hon. Also speaking, Ezeh welcomed the new service, describing it as a significant development for the Nigerian community in the Littoral Region and expressing optimism that the route would make travel between Nigeria and Cameroon more convenient while supporting stronger economic and social ties.

Representing the Douala Airport Authority, Lt. Col. Adolphe Nyamke Bongkwaha welcomed Air Peace to Douala and highlighted the importance of the new connection in strengthening the city’s position as a key gateway for regional travel and facilitating increased movement between Cameroon and Nigeria.

Speaking on behalf of Air Peace, Ngala described the launch as another important milestone in the airline’s regional expansion journey, noting that the Lagos-Douala-Libreville connection further strengthens Air Peace’s growing African network and provides passengers with greater access to destinations across West and Central Africa.

Ngala reaffirmed Air Peace’s commitment to building a robust and interconnected African aviation network, enabling passengers to travel seamlessly from destinations across the airline’s domestic network through Lagos to regional and international destinations, including London and the Caribbean.

FORT PORTAL: Preparations for the burial of the late Tooro King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV have intensified at the royal burial grounds in Karambi I Village as the kingdom awaits the repatriation of his remains from the United States. The royal burial grounds, locally known as Amagasani, have been placed under tight traditional control as workers and ritualists begin preparations for the final resting place of the late monarch. As of Sunday, workers were busy rehabilitating the access road to the burial grounds, while others swept and cleaned the compound ahead of the funeral. Members of the public and journalists have been barred from entering the burial grounds, where traditional rituals have already commenced. Young men, who also serve as ritualists, were seen inside the structures housing the graves of former Tooro monarchs carrying out “okweza”, a customary ritual involving the cleaning of the king’s resting place and...

Dr Laurie Marker, Founder and Executive Director of the Otjiwarongo-based Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF), presented Namibia’s rangeland management and wildlife coexistence models as a global solution to desertification at the 17th United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP17). The international summit was held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from 17–28 August, under the theme “Restoring Land. Restoring Hope.” Gathering world leaders, scientists, and agricultural experts, the conference addressed escalating global drought issues. Dr. Marker used the summit as an international platform to advocate for Namibia’s integrated approach to keeping wildlife on working agricultural landscapes. “We can’t manage land, water, food production, livestock, wildlife, biodiversity, and people as separate systems,” Dr. Marker stated. “They’re all part of the same living ecosystem. Namibia has shown when we keep the land healthy, rural communities and wildlife thrive together.” During the summit, the CCF introduced its flagship initiative, “Saving the Cheetah, Saving the Drylands,” positioning...
