
(CNS): Two men were arrested around midnight Friday on suspicion of importing ganja and other related offences after their boat was intercepted by the Cayman Islands Coast Guard. According to a release, the RCIPS helicopter alerted the CICG about the vessel, which had been spotted navigating in a suspicious manner along the southern coastline of Grand Cayman.
The coastguard responded and stopped the boat. During a preliminary search, they found numerous parcels suspected to contain ganja. The RCIPS did not disclose the quantity or say where the two men were from.
Following the interdiction the men, the drugs and the vessel were handed over to the RCIPS. The suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
