Tax relief for primary producers will continue to expand this year, Minister of Agriculture István Nagy said in a video posted on his Facebook page.
Nagy stressed that the government favors tax cuts over tax hikes, citing exemptions for people under 25 and mothers with two children under 40.
“If we look at agriculture, I have good news for primary producers, as their tax benefits will continue to increase,” he said.
The minister added that raising both the minimum wage and the guaranteed minimum wage above inflation would not only boost workers’ income but also benefit primary producers, since many of their tax allowances are linked to the minimum wage, which rose 11%.
He noted that under the 2021 agrarian reform, tax thresholds automatically adjust in line with changes to the minimum wage.
