The Labour Party has said that Nationalist Party leader Alex Borg “copied and pasted” the 50 proposals that he announced during his Budget response last Monday from ChatGPT.
In a press conference at the Labour Party headquarters, Ministers Michael Falzon and Owen Bonnici said that in Parliament the Labour Government offered a vision for our country; while on the other hand, a Nationalist Opposition continued with a negative approach.
Minister Falzon said that the Labour Party in Government has an inclusive policy, and with the Budget for next year, it is continuing to introduce measures ensuring that it helps everyone to improve the quality of life.
He explained that in addition to major measures such as increasing pensions, tax cuts to families and other social benefits affecting thousands of people, the Government is implementing measures targeting individual needs and small groups of people.
He cited increases in the adoptions bonus and foster parents grants, an increase in the allowance for persons finishing drug rehabilitation programmes, and IVF for couples who wish to become parents as examples.
Minister Bonnici, pointed out that during the Prime Minister Robert Abela’s speech in Parliament on Tuesday, Nationalist MPs interrupted him several times.
He referred to PN MP Adrian Delia being dismissed from Parliament as a result of his interruptions and PN MP Paula Mifsud obstructing the television broadcast when she stood in front of the national station camera while the Prime Minister was addressing the House.
Abela had exceeded his time limit, but Mifsud Bonnici on Wednesday apologised for her actions.
Bonnici said that the Prime Minister was not allowed to explain the Malta Vision 2050 goals and other projects that will be carried out in the interest of the Maltese and Gozitans.
“In contrast, a day before the Leader of the Opposition referred to a wishlist consisting of 50 ideas which he has either copied and pasted from ChatGPT, or he does not realise that they have already been implemented by the Government,” Bonnici said.
“Proposals are usually planned, strategic, and costed. Thus, the Opposition Leader offered a wishlist not proposals,” he concluded.
