The Ghana Police Service has arrested two suspects, including an alleged gang leader, in connection with the robbery attack on Berekum Chelsea Football Club that resulted in the death of a player.
In an update issued on its official Facebook page, the Police said the arrests were made through an intelligence-led operation, describing the development as a major step in ongoing efforts to bring all perpetrators to justice.
One of the suspects sustained injuries during an exchange of fire with police intelligence teams and has since been conveyed to hospital for treatment under police supervision.
The Police assured the public that investigations remain active and that additional details will be communicated as the case progresses.
The Service further signalled its resolve to clamp down on violent crime, urging the public to remain calm while it continues operations to track down any remaining suspects linked to the incident.
