Following the official announcement of the General Election scheduled for 30 May 2026, the MATSEC Examinations Board issued changes to the upcoming examination timetable and specific venue locations.
“The following adjustments have been implemented to ensure the smooth conduct of examinations while accommodating national electoral requirements,” the board said in a statement.
All examinations scheduled for Friday, 29 May will proceed as originally planned, but some are with a change of venue.
Candidates originally scheduled for St Theresa College, Vincenzo Borg Brared Middle School (Birkirkara) will now sit for their exams at St Ignatius College, Mikiel Anton Vassalli Secondary School, Tal-Ħandaq, Qormi.
Candidates scheduled to sit for exams at Maria Regina College, Żokrija Secondary School (Block Delta/Epsilon) will remain at the same school but will be shifted to Block Kappa/Sigma.
All other examination venues remain unchanged.
When it comes to 30 May – election day – all exams scheduled for that day have been re-scheduled.
All Art papers originally set for that date have been moved to 1 and 2 June.
SEC Art Paper 1 will now be held on Monday, 1 June at 4pm, and SEC Art Paper 2 on Tuesday, 2 June at 4pm, whilst the Intermediate Art and Advanced Art Paper 1 will both be held on Monday, 1 June at 9am, and the Advanced Art Paper 2 will take place that same afternoon at 4pm.
All rescheduled sittings will be held at the venues originally assigned to each candidate.
