Garowe (WDN) – Former Minister of Interior of Puntland, Juxa, who was recently removed from office, strongly accused the Federal Government of Somalia of interfering in the affairs of the Federal Member States while speaking at a ceremony where he was handing over his position.
Addressing his successor, the former minister stated that there is a serious and difficult situation surrounding the regional administrations.
Minister Juxa openly declared that the top leadership of the Federal Government has placed the Federal Member States under pressure, and that some have even been taken over by force. He urged the incoming minister to work toward safeguarding Puntland’s administration.
“Minister, you are taking over this office at a time when the central government has changed the country’s constitution, the Federal Member States have been squeezed, and some have been removed. Puntland must be saved,” said former Minister Juxa.
The writing had long been on the wall that Juxa would be replaced. He himself was aware that President Deni had been planning his removal for some time. Many people who talked to WardheerNews stated the more prudent course for Juxa would have been to resign before being dismissed, rather than face an abrupt and unceremonious exit.
President Said’s second term has been overshadowed by persistent allegations of nepotism and mismanagement, leveraging Puntland’s state machinery to advance personal and family interests, an approach many argue departs sharply from the region’s established norms of governance. Such claims have fueled growing public concern, with many observers warning that this pattern, if left unchecked, risks undermining institutional integrity and eroding public trust in Puntland’s leadership in ways not previously witnessed in its political history.
