(Trinidad Express) ‘NOBODY could bring back my son’.
These were the words of Azard Mohammed, the grieving father of La Romaine painter Zaid Mohammed, who sustained multiple injuries when he got into a fight after leaving a bar on Sunday night.
Mohammed, 31, of Pond Street, died on the roadside at the junction of Dumfries Road and Pond Street, La Romaine.
Police are searching for two men and a woman who were seen in scuffle with Mohammed before driving away from the scene in a Nissan Almera.
Police were told that Mohammed was liming at a bar with his Venezuelan girlfriend on Dumfries Road, when an altercation started with two men and a woman.
A police report stated that around 10.30 p.m. a silver Nissan Almera stopped on the road opposite Rosetta Drive.
The report said that Mohammed was seen in the vehicle, engaged in a scuffle with the other three occupants of the vehicle.
Mohammed exited the vehicle, and as it drove off it rolled over his body, then crashed into a drain.
Mohammed got up from the road and ran for a few metres before falling near a burger cart at the junction of Dumfries Road and Pond Street. He died where he fell.
The car sped off. Residents contacted the police and officers found Mohammed covered in blood, motionless and unresponsive.
