
DOHA, Feb.22, (ST)-Today, the first group of the Syrian Civil Defense Foundation (White Helmets) team arrived in Doha to participate in a special training program supervised by the Qatari International Search and Rescue Group of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya).
The training program will be held from February 23 to March 20, 2025, and comes within the framework of enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise between the two sides in the fields of search and rescue.
The program includes a set of training courses and field exercises, which aim to develop the skills of the Syrian Civil Defense in dealing with disasters and humanitarian crises.
It also includes intensive field training to improve the team’s skills in search and rescue operations and dealing with emergency situations.
Major Khalid Al-Humaidi, Commander of the Qatari International Search and Rescue Group, said: “We are proud of this cooperation, which reflects our commitment to providing support and training to the White Helmets heroes, who are making tremendous efforts in confronting disasters and humanitarian crises.”
He clarified that the program aims to improve the readiness of the Syrian team in the field of search and rescue, and provide it with the latest technologies used in this field, and contributes to enhancing international cooperation and knowledge exchange between the two teams, which increases the Syrian team’s ability to confront humanitarian challenges with high efficiency.
For his part, Raed Al-Saleh, Head of the Syrian Civil Defense, said: “We are proud of the partnership with the Qatari Search and Rescue Team (Lekhwiya),” stressing that this partnership represents an important strategic step to enhance the capabilities of the Syrian Civil Defense teams (White Helmets) and develop skills in the fields of search and rescue.
