THE inaugural Loft Chess Club Championship set for Ndola this weekend has drawn over 60 competitors, with the winner in the open section to pocket K10,000.
Tournament media liaison officer Brighton Chiumya said the championship has attracted players from across the country.
“For our first tournament we have attracted some good players from different parts of the country. We expect a very exciting show this Friday.
This tournament is an early Christmas gift for the players and fans who love chess. We will have some big names competing in this competition.
So the fans should come out in numbers,” Chiumya said in an interview yesterday.
“We have players like International Masters Stanley Chumfwa, Kelvin Chumfwa, Gillian Bwalya and Chitumbo Mwali. We will also have FIDE Master Prince Mulenga competing.”…https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/
