Six students from the Solomon Islands proudly graduated from Fulton Adventist University College in Nadi, Fiji during a memorable ceremony held on Sunday, 24th November 2024.
The event, graced by families, friends, and distinguished guests, celebrated the achievements of students from across the Pacific under the inspiring theme, “Enlighten to Shine.”
The 165 graduates, representing various disciplines, were commended for their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence throughout their academic journey.
The graduates are represented by the Pacific Island counties including New Zealand.
Among the Solomon Islands graduates were students who pursued studies in Theology, Education, and Business, marking a significant milestone in their personal and professional growth.
The Solomon Islands students who joined the graduation ceremony were; Jallington Simeon (BA in Theology), Wagner Shadrack Lamae (BA in Theology), Raymond Hiakonia (BA in Theology), Joseph Ardelee (BA in Theology), Steward Langai (BA in Business Information Systems) and Zelma Alekevu Bakote’e (BA in Education- Primary).
Keynote speaker Papua New Guinea (PNG) Minister of Higher Education Kinoka Hotune Feo, in addressing the graduates, reflected on the theme, emphasizing the responsibility of educated individuals to be beacons of light in their communities. “
As you step into the world, remember that your enlightenment comes with the responsibility to shine brightly, serving others and upholding the values you have learned,” Hon. Feo said.
Graduate spokesperson Jallington Simeon who is also the Outgoing President of the Solomon Islands Cultural Community, in a refreshment after the graduation ceremony speaking on behalf of the Solomon Islands graduants, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the university, their sponsors, their families, and the Solomon Islands community for their unwavering support.
“This is not just our achievement but a shared victory. We are ready to return home and contribute meaningfully to the development of our nation,” he remarked.
The ceremony concluded with a moment of reflection, celebrating the graduates’ spiritual and academic growth, a hallmark of Fulton Adventist University College.
