Muscat –Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, has concluded a two-day state visit to the Sultanate of Oman, which took place on January 28 and 29, 2025. The visit was marked by extensive discussions and the signing of several memoranda of understanding to enhance cooperation across a broad range of sectors.
During the visit, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Sheikh Tamim commended the significant growth in bilateral relations, highlighting the importance of expanding economic and investment cooperation. The leaders stressed the need for both public and private sectors to diversify partnerships to meet the aspirations of their peoples.
A joint communiqué issued at the conclusion of the visit outlined the strong historical ties between Oman and Qatar, and their shared commitment to further enhancing relations. The two sides lauded the success of the Omani-Qatari Joint Committee in advancing mutual interests and vowed to continue efforts to foster new areas of partnership.
The leaders also addressed key regional and international issues, including the ongoing conflict in Gaza, the situation in Syria, and the importance of peaceful conflict resolution. They expressed their hope for continued efforts to bring about stability and security in the region and globally.
At the close of the visit, Sheikh Tamim expressed his gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Haitham for the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation. His Majesty reciprocated, wishing the State of Qatar continued prosperity and progress.
