“No quiero crear unas expectativas irreales.

(CNS): CPR Cayman, the activists opposing the construction of cruise berthing facilities, have said there are still too many unresolved issues to support a national vote on the subject at the general election and have welcomed the members of the opposition who have said they’re not going to support the referendum bill when it comes to parliament in January. CPR believes the question is too vague, leaving voters without a clear understanding of what they are voting for or against. Key information that would allow voters to make an informed decision such as the location, costs, environmental impacts, and logistical details are missing because there is no plan on the table. Government has also failed to present precise numbers that could justify the case for development of the project given that the actual number of Caymanians directly set to lose their jobs or business as a result of not constructing...

Si plizyè dirijan fantom 509 tankou Nènèl Cassy ak Ralph Youri Chevry tounen sou sèn politik la ankò. Sa vle di gen anpil chans pou fantom 509 reprann sèvis li tou. Sitou gen anpil lòt chèf ki te toujou la ap paweze tankou Pierre Esperance direktè RNDDH la. Detoutfason pouvwa ki la...

Overview: Nonprofit Little Haiti BK’s alleged role in the 2023 New York Haitian Heritage Parade signals broader challenges it is aiming to confront as both its management and the community shift over the past few years. This report is part 2 of 3. BROOKLYN — When the swatch of Flatbush known as “Little Haiti” was first designated in 2018, its stated goal was to “help small businesses remain in the neighborhood, erect a monument and build a cultural center,” according to a New York Times report. By 2021, Little Haiti BK Inc., a nonprofit founded to execute the vision, had gotten a subway station and several streets renamed to reflect the area’s Haitian heritage. Leaders also sought to form a Business Improvement District (BID) to revitalize businesses. Its top champion, Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn spoke of raising the neighborhood’s consumer price index (CPI). In the three years since, few have seen...
