Japan Self-Defense Vessel Still Waiting for Approval to Port in Vanuatu❗ The First Secretary and Consul of the Embassy of Japan Yojiro Ichinose in Vanuatu has confirmed that Japan’s request for their Maritime Self-Defense Force vessel’s port call to Port Vila has yet to be approved. The Japanese self-defense vessel is expected this week and the arrival of said vessel was announced last week. According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, the decision rests with the National Security Advisory Board.
