A MAN has revealed that his own son is convinced his wife his using him for a green card, but has insisted it is real love.
Monami revealed that many people believe he paid for his wife Mia, who is from the Philippines, and added that his own mother demanded to see her birth certificate to check she is of legal age.

The couple have a huge height difference, as Monami is 6 feet tall, whilst Mia is just 4 foot, meaning that many believe they have a huge age difference.
However, the couple met when Monami was 28 and Mia was 19.
Monami had been travelling in the Philippines when he met Mia in her local village.
“The second I saw her I was attracted to her,” he told Love Don’t Judge.

The pair chatted for a few days, and then Monami asked Mia’s parents if he could take her to Manila with him.
“We’ve been together ever since,” he said.
“My first was that he looked Ok,” Mia said.
“I’d never seen a black American before.”
The pair have now been married for 10 years, and plan to get their vows renewed.
However, many still have concerns about their relationship, such as one of Monami’s friends who said he at first thought Mia was his girlfriend’s daughter.
“He kept lifting her up, and it was like he was lifting up a kid”, the friend said.
When Monami first sent a picture of his wife to his mum, she demanded to see her birth certificate, as she thought Mia was 14.
“For Americans who have never travelled like my mum, she looked too young.”
When Mia and Monami first got together, his son Elijah was eight and wasn’t fazed by the couple, however, as he became a teenager, things started to change.

“I could see that he was getting kind of upset,” Monami said.
“Sometimes we would go a month or two without even speaking.”
Elijah has refused to come to the vow renewal, which will take place in Thailand, where the couple live, as he does not support their relationship.
“How are you going to know if when she gets the papers she will still be there?” he asked his dad.
“I don’t mean to put a stereotype on you, but it’s a possibility”, Elijah added to Mia.
However, the couple aren’t bothered by the judgement they receive.
“I’m fully happy in my life, I’ve found my life partner,” Monami said.
“To the people who judge us, I’d say keep doing what you do, it doesn’t phase us.”
