Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Keith Mweemba has hailed Zambian Super League champions Power Dynamos following their impressive 2–0 victory over Morocco’s RS Berkane in the CAF Champions League.
Speaking after the match played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium this afternoon, Mweemba said the win is a major boost for Zambian football and has significantly improved Power Dynamos’ chances of progressing to the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.
“With Power now sitting on seven points, our hope is that they build on this momentum in the next game and, over time, help Zambia secure the much-needed additional slot in the CAF Champions League,” Mweemba said.
Power Dynamos sealed the victory through goals from Ronel Manyanga in the 47th minute and Prince Mumba deep into stoppage time (90+3).
Meanwhile, Mweemba has also commended the Zambia Under-20 Women’s National Team after they battled to a 1–1 draw against Uganda in the first leg of the fourth-round qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
Mweemba described the result as encouraging, especially given Uganda’s strong reputation, and urged the young Copper Queens to complete the task in the return leg in Ndola.
“It is not easy to get a result against a fancied side like Uganda. We are glad the girls showed character by coming from a goal down to equalise and settle for a draw,” he said.
The Zambian side recovered from an early setback to level matters through a 58th-minute goal by Edith Phiri, ensuring the tie remains finely balanced ahead of the second leg.
