Sri Lanka has been awarded the title of ‘The Most Desirable Island in the World’ winning the Gold award at the 23rd Annual Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards 2024 in the United Kingdom (UK).
Sri Lanka climbed from eighth place in 2023 to secure the coveted Gold award, marking a thrilling turnaround to accomplish this remarkable achievement reflecting the island’s captivating appeal and diverse offerings of tourist destinations that resulted in being voted by over 200,000 avid travelers from around the world.
The accolade was collected by the Sri Lanka Tourism Chairman Buddhika Hewawasam at the Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards 2024 event which was held at the iconic Tate Modern in London, UK.
