Monrovia, December 27, 2024: The Kids Reading For All Foundation has donated educational materials to students at the Ambulia Gbangba Public School in Maizen, Bomi County.
The donation includes pens, copybooks, and pencils, and LD $2,800 to 15 scholarship students at the institution.
The donation was led by the foundation’s CEO, Saimo Omias Kortu, Executive Director, E. Reagan G.T. Barcon, II, and other team members.
The donation is aimed at supporting the educational development of underprivileged children in Liberia.
The beneficiaries, primarily elementary students, received the materials during a ceremony held at the school recently.
Addressing attendees, Saimo Kortu highlighted the foundation’s commitment to giving back to society and empowering underprivileged school-going children.
He pledged to provide more educational materials annually and to establish scholarship awards for the best-performing students to encourage academic excellence.
Executive Director E. Reagan G.T. Barcon II emphasized the importance of education and human capacity building as key investments in a developed society.
He urged the scholarship recipients to maintain good character, respect their parents and teachers, and focus on their studies to become responsible citizens contributing to community growth.
Receiving the items on behalf of the school, the principal, teachers, and parents expressed gratitude to the foundation for its impactful contributions.
They commended the leadership for creating opportunities and a conducive learning environment for students.
The event was attended by school administrators, local leaders, and residents of Maizen Town.
It underscored the community’s support for the initiative.
