Muscat – Muscat Nights Festival, the much-anticipated event that opened its doors on December 23, has quickly become a highlight of the city’s festive season. Featuring a diverse range of activities, the festival is attracting citizens and residents from across the country, drawing families, tourists and culture enthusiasts to explore its vibrant offerings.
Muscat Daily visited several festival sites to gather feedback from attendees, showcasing the wide range of experiences the event offers.
Sharing his excitement, Badr al Siyabi from Amerat said, “Muscat Nights Festival offers a variety of events. We visited Amerat Public Park and the Heritage Village, which vividly showcases Oman’s cultural diversity and legacy.” He informed that the Heritage Village has detailed displays of bedouin tents, farming tools and coastal exhibitions, reflecting Oman’s rural and seafaring traditions. Visitors can also witness artisans demonstrating traditional crafts – weaving textiles, making silver jewellery, and crafting wooden doors and daggers.
“The event has something for everyone – hybrid shows, thrilling amusement rides, acrobatic performances, a lively carnival and even consumer stalls,” Siyabi added, highlighting the festival’s all-encompassing entertainment appeal.
Khalid al Habsi, from Mudhaibi, was delighted to visit. “I brought my children to Al Naseem Public Park, where they enjoyed a variety of activities, including a heritage village, electric rides and fireworks. The event is full of excitement for families visiting from different parts of the sultanate.”
Qurum Natural Park is also a big attraction, where visitors marvel at drone shows, laser displays and a colourful flower show. In addition to these visual spectacles, the park is hosting a food festival and a global village celebrating international cultures and traditions.
For families with young children, Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) has a dedicated children’s village where the young ones can interact with popular characters, including Batman, Superman, Tom and Jerry. “My children had a wonderful time at OCEC. They were thrilled to meet their favourite characters,” said Badr al Rawahi from Seeb.
“Muscat Nights Festival has truly brought the city alive, offering a memorable mix of culture, entertainment and family-friendly fun that is drawing visitors from far and near,” Rawahi said.
Muscat Municipality has chosen seven strategic locations to host various Muscat Nights Festival activities, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy. These locations are Qurum National Park, Amerat Park, Naseem Park, Oman Automobile Association, OCEC, Seeb Beach (Sur al Hadid) and Wadi al Khoudh.
