The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) has contributed US dollars 130 million to the Treasury earned from its involvement in UN peacekeeping operations since 2014.
Another contingent of the aviation unit, consisting of 20 officers and 88 airmen of the Sri Lanka Air Force, is scheduled to depart for the Central African Republic in the first week of December for peacekeeping missions.
In addition to contributing to the Central African Republic’s peacekeeping operations, SLAF members who are assigned UN peacekeeping missions provide support for troop transport, elite transport, food and cargo transportation, inter-country flights, parachute drop, and medical transportation.
