Hong Kong Cantopop heartthrob Keung To has appealed to fans not to vote for him again on a list of the world’s most handsome men after he felt “terribly embarrassed” to take second place this year, one notch up from 2023 and beating the likes of football legend David Beckham and Superman actor Henry Cavill.
The 25-year-old member of boy band Mirror trailed just behind Australian actor Chris Hemsworth, known for his role as Thor in the Marvel Universe, in the list of the “100 Most Handsome Faces” of 2024 revealed on Saturday.
“Please don’t put me on the list again. This ranking makes me terribly embarrassed every time,” he said on his social media account. “I feel like it’s nonsense.”
The singer added that he would rather be the second most handsome man at home to his father.
Three others from Hong Kong also made to this year’s list – published annually by English writer TC Candler and the Independent Critics since 1990 – including two of Keung’s fellow band members, Anson Kong, ranked 23rd, and Anson Lo, at 91st.
Singer and dancer Wong Yuk-hei, known professionally as Lucas and who is a member of K-pop supergroup SuperM, was ranked at 58th.
